BENAPOLE (JESSORE): Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 24 Bangladeshis on Benapole border in accusation of attempting to go to India illegally on Saturday afternoon.
Among the detainees, 16 were male and eight female. But identities of them could not be known immediately.
Putkhali BGB camp subedar Farid Uddin told banglanews that they nabbed 24 people in two separate drives on Bangladesh and India border and handed over them to Benapole Port Thana.
Confirming the matter to banglanews Benapole Port Thana sub-inspector (SI) Sujit said that the detainees will be produced before the court on Sunday noon in a case of illegal crossing.
Earlier on October 16, the BGB men nabbed 21 Bangladeshis from the same area for illegal crossing.
