DHAKA: State minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam said that as many as 137 Bangladeshi pilgrims were killed in Mina stampede in Saudi Arabia during hajj.

He made this disclosure at a press conference at foreign ministry Sunday afternoon.

Moreover, a total of 53 Bangladeshi are still missing in the incident, the state minister added.

According to him, identities of 96 among 137 dead have been revealed.

Besides, scores of Bangladeshi pilgrims are taking treatment in several hospitals in Saudi Arabia.

Foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali was also present at the press conference.
