MOULVIBAZAR: At least three people, including a minor, were killed in a road accident in Sadar town on Saturday.

Of the deceased two were identified as Delta Life Insurance employee Kalyanmoy Roy Gautam, 40, who hailed from Shantibagh area of the town and Gaurab Saha, 8, and a rickshaw puller.

Local people told banglanews that a truck rammed into a rickshaw on Shah Mostafa road in front of Darul Ulum Madarasa of the town around 11:30am, leaving the rickshaw puller dead on the spot and two passengers injured.

The injured were taken to MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital in Sylhet where they succumbed to their injuries around 2:30pm, reports banglanews correspondent.

Moulvibazar Model Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Abdus Salek confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Police detained the truck driver.
