TANGAIL: Four people were killed and two others injured in a road crash in Raktipara intersection on Mymensingh-Tangail highway on Sunday morning.

The accident took place in Madhupur Thana area of the district around 7:15am.

The deceased were identified as Jani, 19, student of Madhupur Degree College, Anwar Hossain, 20, son if Abu Selim, 20, of Madhupur upazila, DArok Ali, 65, of Ghatail Upazila and Abdul Khalek, 45, son of Makkbul Hossian.

Of them, Jani, Darok and Khalek died on the spot while Anwar succumbed to his injuries at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, said Madhupur Thana sub-inspector (SI) Abdul Hakim.

Madhupur fire service station officer SK Tuhin told banglanews that a truck collided with a CNG-run Auto-rickshaw in the area this morning, leaving three dead of the spot and three others injured.

The bodies were taken to nearby thana while two injured were admitted to the aforesaid hospital.
