JHENIDAH: Two people were killed and two others injured in a road accident at Sreerampur on Kushtia-Jhenidah highway early Monday.

The deceased were identified as truck driver Abdur Rahman, 42, and covered-van helper Dalim Hossain, 36 while the injured are covered-van driver, 45, and truck helper Hasan Ali, 23.

Sources said a truck collided head-on with a covered-van in Shailkupa upazila around 4:30am, leaving two people dead and two others injured.

Shailkupa Thana officer-in-charge (OC) MA Hashem Khan told banglanews that on information, police rushed to the spot and sent the injured to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital.

Besides, two dead bodies were sent to morgue for autopsy.
