DHAKA: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) nabbed a hacker for committing cyber crimes including extortion and cheat.

The detainee has been identified as Abdullah Al Fahad.

Recently, Fahad attempted to hack banglanews and demanded Tk 1 lakh from the organization.



Following an email demanding the extortion, RAB-4 members nabbed Fahad from city’s Uttara area around 11:00am on Tuesday.

RAB-4 official Wares said in primary investigation Fahad confessed his demand of money by hacking the sites.

He was detained following a case filed in city’s Bhatara Thana, the RAB official added.
