RAB nabs extortionist hacker

Dhaka: Crime buster Rapid Action Battalion-4(Rab) has nabbed extortionist hacker under prevention of cyber crime law.

The extortionist hacker identified as Abdullah Al Fahad, 21 has been involved with various kinds of cyber offences including extortion and fraudulent activities.

Very recently Abdullah Fahad demanded Taka one lakh from Banglanewstwentyfour.com news portal by hacking. The extortion money was demanded by email. Searching the email Rab-4 caught Fahad on Tuesday morning at 11 A.M.

Rab-4 officer Wares nabbed Fahad from Uttara of the capital. At initial interrogation Fahad has admitted his involvement in extortion. Fahad was picked up by Rab-4 in connection with a case filed with Bhatara police station by Banglanews authority, told Wares.

Another Rab official of Intelligence department told that proofs were available about the cyber crimes of Abdullah Fahad committed by him at different times. However he said various kinds of talks at different times.

Abdullah Fahad is a student of second year of computer science in private IUBAT University. His father is now working in defense services. He is living in Uttara, he told.

Fahad informed that on different occasions he adopted pseudonym of Faha Justine, Glen Maxwell, Hosne Mobarak evn Rezaul Karim, Tasmir Khan and Abdullah Fahad. He used spread from different post sexual activities, spreading virus in PC and Network of cyber world and also hacked the web sites of various organizations. Rab got all the proofs.

Before hacking Banglanews Fahad has tried to extort money from different organizations giving threats of hacking their web sites. The case was instituted under ICT Act 56.

On last October 19 two emails were sent to Banglanews demanding 1 thousand dollars from [email protected] giving threats of hacking the news portal. Bangalnews was asked toend the money to code number of forbidden bit coin. Next the money was sent through SA Paribahan to one Nishat Rahman, House no. 23, Road 3, B-block Shahjalal satellite city of Sylhet. If money is not to this address then threat was given to hack the site. After then a series of same emails were flow in to Bnaglanews. Under compulsion Banglanews authority filed a general diary with Bhartara Police in this connection on October 20. Simultaneously the matter was brought to the notice of Rab.

The after strict surveillance for a week finally Rab nabbed Abdullah Fahad from Uttara.

Itellegence Director of Rab Lt. Col. Abul Kalam Azad told Banglanews that the cyber crimes are increasing at a rapid pace in the country. Under this circumstance the capability of Rab is also being upgraded. S, the offenders will not go untouched whatever powerful they are.

Adjutant of Rab-4 ASP Mujahidul Islam told Banglanews that the criminal definitely leaves some traces of their crimes committed. Accordingly Fahad could not escape from the net of Rab.

CC of Rab -4 Major Shafiul Azam Siddiky told Bnaglanews that the number of extortionists hacker is increasing alarmingly along with ‘ethical hacker’. A section of criminals carry on extortion by making many organizations their targets giving threats of hacking web site, Face book ID and government and no-government agencies. Their main target is to extort money.

Though Abdullah Fahad tried to hide himself under various pseudonym but his real face came out after Rab investigation by their Intelligence section. This Rab official asserted that in future they are able to detect any kind cyber crime. END.
