BAGERHAT: Ringleader of a gang of sea robbers was killed in a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in the Mrigamari canal of Chandpai Range on Wednesday.

The incident took place in the east Sundarbans located in Mongla upazila of Bagerhat around 6:30am.

The deceased was identified as Shipon, 32, leader of Shipon Bahini.

RAB-8 commander lieutenant Farid Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
