PABNA: Police have arrested the chief accused of Father Luke attempt to murder case from sadar thana of Pabna district.

The accused has been identified as Raqibul Islam alias Tawhid alias Rajan (25), son of a homeopathy practitioner Abdul Maleque.

The arrestee has also been identified as Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) regional commander.

Pabna Sadar Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Abdullah Al Hasan told banglanews that acting on a tip-off, they conducted the drive at a house in Tebunia Wednesday morning.

Police have been interrogating the arrestee, he added.

Earlier on October 5, three youth entered the house of Father Luke and tried to kill the priest. They fled the scene leaving a motorcycle in the place as neighbors gathered at the house after listening to the shouts of the victim.
