DHAKA: Chief Justice SK Sinha has reconstituted 19 single and two-judge benches of the High Court (HC) division of the Supreme Court.

The order will be effective from Sunday morning.

The newly constructed single benches of Justice Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan and Justice AB Mahmudul Haque have been given authorities to hear petitions on civil motion and appeals.

The bench of Justices Tariq Ul Hakim and Farid Ahmad Sibly and the bench of Justices Moinul Islam Chowdhury and M Ashraful Kamal have been given instructions to hear all writs sans VAT, customs and income tax.

The bench of justices Salma Masud Chowdhury and FRM Nazmul Ahsan has been given the power to hear the criminal appeals and bail petitions.

Hearing of criminal motion, bail appeals without anti-corruption law have been allocated to the bench of justices Farid Ahammad and KM Kamrul Quader and the bench of justices M Emdadul Haque and M Khurshid Alam Sarkar.
