Terrorist’s bullet-hit body recovered in Faridpur

FARIDPUR: Police recovered the bullet-hit body of a top terrorist Afzal Hossain alias Hatkata Shahin (38) in Faridpur district.

The incident took place at Koijuri union near Faridpur town around 1:15am on Sunday.

Kotowali Thana sub-inspector (SI) Avijit said that after listening to the sound of gun-shot the patrol police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of bullet-hit Shahin.

Moreover, police also recovered a rifle from the spot, he added.

The body was sent to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital.

Hospital’s on-duty doctor Sirajul Islam said that a group of policemen brought a bullet-hit body around 1:30am. But the man had succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.

Later, relatives of the deceased identified Shahin, son of late Motahar Hossain Biswas.

Police further said that Shahin was accused in 18 cases, including of murder and robbery. He was also a convict of several cases.
