Keokradong, one of Bandarban’s most popular tourist destinations, will not reopen on October 1 as previously announced.

Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ara Rini confirmed on Sunday that clearance from various departments is still pending. “We need to observe more. If everything turns out positive, we will inform the public by notice. It could be on the 1st or a date around it,” she said.

Earlier, on September 27, during a World Tourism Day event at Meghla Tourist Spot, DC Shamim Ara Rini had suggested that Keokradong might reopen on October 1. However, a final reassessment has led to the postponement.

Until further notice, tourist access to Keokradong will remain restricted.
