DHAKA: Physicians declared a five-year child Nirob dead around 9:00pm. Earlier, he was rescued from a city manhole around 8:20pm Tuesday.

Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) physician Sohel Rana said that they declared the child dead after an ECG examination.

Kadamtali Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Wazed Ali said that Nirob, son of Mohammad Rezaul, fell into the manhole while playing in the area around 4:45pm.

On information, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.

Fire service director general Brigadier General Ali Ahmed Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
