SAVAR, DHAKA: Two vegetable traders were killed in a reported road accident in Vakurta area in Savar, on outskirts in Dhaka, on early Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Mohsin and Masud, hailed from Battoli area of Taranagar union in Keraniganj upazila.

Police source said an unidentified vehicle ran over the duo while crossing the road around at dawn, leaving them dead on the spot.
 
But locals alleged that the two persons were killed in a attack of dacoit gang while going to Mirpur with vegetable-laden van.

When the two traders reached Turag bridge area, dacoit gang intercepted and hacked them to death and looted cash and mobile handsets.

Savar Thana sub-inspector (SI) Kamrul Hasan said on information, police inspected the crime scène.
