DHAKA: Information ministry has decided to fix the serial of all Bangladeshi television channels according to their year of establishment.

Cable operators have to display the channels according to the serial otherwise their licenses will be cancelled.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed came up with the decision on Wednesday after a meeting with the information ministry and Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO).

Information minister Hasanul Huq Inu said that the local television channels have to be prioritized.

He further said, “Bangladeshi channels will come first in serial”.

“Legal actions will be taken against the operators, who do not abide by this decision,” Inu warned.
