PABNA: At least five people, including three of a family, were killed and 20 others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Pabna highway in Chinakhora area under Sujanagar Upazila of the district on Monday noon.

Of the deceased, three were identified as Shankani Rani, 42, wife of one Gopal Chandra Sarkar, hailed from Laxmipur billage under Ataikula Thana, her daughter Bijli Rani, 22 and grandson Akash, 12.  

Witnesses said a passenger bus collided head-on with a stone-laden truck in the area around 12:45pm, leaving five people passengers of the bus dead on the spot and 20 others injured.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sujanagar Police Station Shakil Ahmad confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Besides, Superintendent of police of Pabna Liton Kumar Saha visited the spot.
