Probe body over Gaibandha road collapse

GAIBANDHA: A five-member committee was formed to investigate the incident of collapse of mud and brick heaps that killed three and injured five people near an under construction culvert at Sadullapur Upazila of the district on Monday night.

Gaibandha deputy commissioner Abdus Samad confirmed the matter to banglanews around 11:45pm on Monday.

He said additional district magistrate Shafiqul Islam was made the head of the probe committee.

Earlier, three people -- A. Sattar, 60, Kakuli Begum, 12 and Abdul Kuddus, 30 -- were killed and five others injured under the mud and brick heaps collapse near the Nangerswar bridge of Gaibandha-Sadulyapur road of the upazila around 8:30pm.

All of the deceased hailed from Mandua area.

DC Abdus Samad announced that families of each deceased will be given Tk 100,000.
