DHAKA: Police detained 23, including 10 outsiders, from the residential halls of Dhaka College in city early Tuesday.

A few locally made weapons also were seized from the halls and its adjacent areas.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Dhanmondi Zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Ruhul Amin Sagar told banglanews that New Market Thana police conducted the drive and detained 23.

Of them, 10 were outsiders while, rest was students of the college but yet to get their allotment in halls, he added.

He further said: “Police will hold a meeting with the proctor of the college. Those who will present legal documents will be released”.

Legal actions would be taken against the others, the AC added.
