DHAKA: The first namaz-e-janaza Rashidul Hossain, a shabda sainik of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, was held at Jatiya Betar Bhaban in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area Tuesday morning.

Noted cultural personalities including Kamal Lohani, Gazi Mazharul Anwar, the deceased’s son Monir Hossain and a flock of well-wishers attended the janaza around 10:30am.

Monir Hossain thanked for organizing his father’s janaza on the premises of Betar Kendra following the deceased’s wishes.

Rashidul Hossain, one of the founders of the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra and one who fought Pakistani occupation forces with music in 1971, will be buried at their family graveyard in Brahmanbaria district after the second janaza after asr prayers.
