THAKURGAON: Dead body of Bangladeshi cattle trader Hemanta Kumar, who was shot by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) early Tuesday, will be handed over to the members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Wednesday evening.
The deceased Hemanta Kumar (30) was a cattle trader and son of one Jitendranath of the same upazila.
He was shot dead on Boshalgaon border under Haripur upazila of Thakurgaon district.
BGB-42 director Lieutenant Colonel Akhtar Iqbal and Krishanganj sector BSF commander HS Bhilan were present at the meeting.
Iqbal told the media this afternoon that the decision of handing over the body was taken in a battalion-level flag meeting between BGB and BSF.
The BGB vehemently condemned the killing in the meeting, he added.
Earlier in the day, BSF shot dead Hemanta as he went to bring cattle from India along with others.
