DHAKA: A fire broke out at a slum adjacent to Beribandh area of Mohammadpur in city early Wednesday.

On information, seven units of fire service doused the blaze after trying for one and a half hours.

Fire Service headquarters deputy assistant director Mamun Mahmud told banglanews that they got the information around 1:20am.

Seven units managed to douse the blaze around 2:45am, he added.

Mamun Mahmud also said around 70 houses were gutted in the fire.
