SYLHET: President Abdul Hamid is set to visit Sylhet on Saturday afternoon to join reunion of former cadets of Sylhet Cadet College.

It will be his first visit as the president of the country.

A helicopter, carrying the president and his entourage members, is scheduled to land at Sylhet Osmani Airport around 12:30pm.

From the airport, he will go for Sylhet Cadet College. And them, he will offer prayers at the shrines of Shahjalal (rh) and Shahparan (rh).

Sylhet administration NDC Mohammad REzaul Karim confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Then, he will return Dhaka around 3:30pm.

Centering the visit of President, law enforcement agencies take tight security measures across Sylhet, including program venue.

Additional 600 police members from outside the metropolitan have been deployed to boost security, said Mohammad Rahmat Ullah, additional deputy-commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police.

The three-day reunion of former cadets of Sylhet Cadet College has started since Thursday.
