RAJSHAHI:  Four people received severe burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion on Rajshahi Cadet College campus on Saturday morning.

The injured are Waheduzzaman, 30, head plumber of Cadet College, assistant mission Manjur Rahman, 28, Rubel, 45, son of Hossain Ali of Shiroil Coloni area of Rajshahi city and Selim, 40, son of Makbul of Chotobangram area.

The four, with burns in different body parts, have been admitted to burn unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Charghat thana officer-in-charge (OC) Nibaron Chandra Barman told banglanews that annual sports competition of the cadet college is scheduled to be held on December 28. Preparation is going on. 

As part of the preparation, some people filled balloons with gas from the cylinder around 8:30am when the accident occurred, the OC added.
