DHAKA: Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal categorically said that a special drive will be conducted to curb militancy in the country.

He made this disclosure to the media at his secretariat office in city on Sunday.

‘The drive will begin just after the municipal polls,’ the minister said.

However, law enforcers conducted a 14-hour drive at a Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) den in city’s Mirpur area on December 24 and arrested seven including three JMB men and also seized huge amount of exclusives including grenades.

Moreover, the militants conducted a suicide attack at a mosque in Rajshahi on the following day, killing the attacker and injuring 10 others.
