DHAKA: Mirpur Thana police submitted charge-sheet against cricketer Shahadat Hossain and his wife Jesmin Jahan Nitya for allegedly torturing a domestic help Mahfuza Aktar Happy (11).

Case investigation officer Mirpur Model Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Shafiq Ahmed submitted the charge-sheet to the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court Tuesday afternoon.

However, both the accused of the case are now on bail.

The High Court granted bail for Shahadat from December 8 of 2015 to March 31 of 2016 while Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge court of Qamrul Hossain Mollah granted a month bail for Nitya from December 1.

Earlier on October 4, Mirpur Model Thana police arrested Nitya from Malibagh and Shahadat surrendered to the CMM court on October 5.
