Lailatul Qadr tonight

DHAKA: Lailatul Qadr, the most auspicious night for the Muslims, will be observed on Monday night through offering special prayers for wellbeing here and hereafter.

The holy Quran was revealed on this night to show the mankind the path of worldly and eternal emancipation.

Muslim devotees will offer special prayers overnight at mosques and homes, seeking divine blessings and mercy of Almighty Allah for themselves as well as the country and the Muslim Ummah.

People will also visit the graves of their relatives and offer special prayers for the salvation of the departed souls.

President Zillur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and opposition leader Khaleda Zia gave separate messages on the occasion, greeting the Muslims across the world and seeking divine blessings for peace and progress of the country.

In their messages, the country’s leaders noted that the night of Lailatul Qadr is the most blessed one of a thousand months for the human beings.

They also sought Allah’s mercy for everyone on the holy occasion.
Different religious organisations are holding discussions, doa and milad mahfil on the occasion.

Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar and private TV channels are airing special programmes highlighting the significance of the holy night.
