CHITTAGANG:  A youth was stabbed to death allegedly by his friend-turned-foe in Mozzartake area under Karnaphuli Thana in the port city on their way home after eid-holidaying early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Rana, 26, the owner of a tea-stall in Hill View residential area.

Police held the alleged killer, Mamun, a hawker by profession, for interrogation over the homicide.

Police said Rana and Mamun along with some other friends went to Cox`s Bazar Saturday, the Eid day, for holidaying in the bay resort.

“They had an altercation while returning home by a microbus on Sunday night. At one stage of the quarrel, Mamun stabbed Rana indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured,” said constable Zakir Hossain of CMCH police outpost.

Rana was rushed in to Chittagong Medical College Hospital at about 2:30am, where the duty doctor declared him dead.  
 
Victim’s mother, Nurjahan Begum, filed a case with Karnaphuli Thana in connection with the killing of her son.
