KHULNA: A Sub-Inspector of police was killed in fatal a road accident near Rupsha Bridge connecting the southern Khulna city on Monday morning.

Emdadul Haq, hailed from Ukilpara of Bogra, was going for duty in Batiaghata Thana when he was run down by a badly driven bus, witnesses said.

Sub-Inspector of Rupsha Thana Abdul Latif told banglanews that a Khulna-bound bus rammed the motorcycle Emdad was riding near Rupsha Bridge at around 11:30am.

“He skidded off the link-road to the bridge and died on the spot,” the SI said.  

“Police couldn’t identify the killer bus,” he added.

As the news broke, Assistant Police Super of Khulna Nasir Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Batiaghata Thana Mollah Maniruzzaman and his collogues rushed to the spot.
