DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Tuesday awarded 37-year imprisonment to a person in a case for his involvement in killing wife.

The court also fined the man Tk 25,000 compensation, in default, he has to serve 3 more years jail.

Dhaka-3 additional metropolitan session judge Dr Aktaruzzaman passed the verdict.

The convict is Abul Kalam of Shibchar upazila of Madaripur district.

The court sentenced Abul Kalam 30 years for killing his wife and seven years jail for disappearance of the body.

On August 10 in 2005, the case statement said Abul Kalam strangled his wife Parvin over family feud.
