DU student found dead in City

DHAKA: A Dhaka University student was found hanged in a market at Shahbagh in the city Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Abul Bashar, 26, son of Wahab Khan hailed from Shailakupa upazila of Jhenidah. He was a final year student of Statistics Department of the university.

Witnesses said that Bashar was a resident student of Amar Ekushey Hall and used to work in a buying house ‘Nitol ware manufacturer’ at Anandabazar market along with three friends.

After information’s from locals, police rushed to the spot found him hanged and recovered the body.

Later, a special team of CID rushed to spot for investigation.

DU Vice Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique also visited the spot.

Shahbag Thana Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Abdul Jalil told banglanews, “Police initiated investigation to find out the motive of Bashar’s death and the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.”
