PABNA: Lawyers here Wednesday started court boycott demanding withdrawal of senior judicial magistrate Parvej Shahriar.

“As the judge did not behave like judges, so we have started boycotting the court,” said advocate Ahad Babu.

Sources said Parvej Shahriar could not start judicial activities as the lawyers abstained from attending the court. Later, he retired to his chamber.

Witnesses said the senior judicial magistrate issued a two-day remand for a criminal when he appeared before court of his own accord.

Advocate Ahad Babu protested the remand and they boycotted the court following the remand order to protest it.

Later, the decision of boycotting the court was taken at a meeting of the district bar association to press for withdrawal of the senior judicial magistrate, Parvej Shahriar.
