Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her 74th birthday, to be celebrated on Monday
The outgoing Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official Ganabhaban residence on Sunday morning.
During the meeting, the high commissioner handed over a greetings letter from Indian Premier Narendra Modi to Sheikh Hasina.
After the meeting, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters.
He said the high commissioner also wished the prime minister on the occasion of her birthday.
The prime minister thanked Modi and Riva Ganguly for greeting her, the press secretary said.
Sheikh Hasina, the eldest of the five children of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Begum Fazilatunnesa, was born at Tungipara of Gopalganj on September 28, 1947.
Awami League and its affiliated organisations will be celebrating the day through organising various humanitarian events and activities and discussions on the life and achievements of Sheikh Hasina who is driving the nation towards prosperity following the footsteps of her father.
