ASHULIA (DHAKA): A district level BNP leader was killed in a road accident at Ashulia, outskirt of capital Dhaka on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Shamim Hossain, 40, assistant publicity secretary of Tangail district BNP.

Eyewitnesses said while driving a motorcycle on Ashulia road around 6:00pm, Shamim lost his control over the bike and fell on the road as his motorbike overturned, leaving him seriously injured.

He was rushed to a local clinic where the duty doctor declared him dead.

Ashulia Thana Sub-Inspector Habibur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
