GAZIPUR: A youth was killed and 10 others were injured in sporadic clashes centering ferry movement on Shitolakkha in Ganga Bazar area under Kapasia upazila of the district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Sumon 20, a rickshaw puller.

Locals said that the ferry lessor and lessee locked into an altercation at around 9:00 am in the area.

Later their supporters locked into sporadic clashes for three-hour with local sharp weapons, leaving Sumon dead on the spot and 10 people injured critically.

Confirming the matter Kapashia Thana Officer-in-Charge Delwar Hossain said that the situation was under control.
