CHITTAGONG: A youth was killed and 35 others injured in a road crash in Fakirhat Eco-Park area under Sitakunda Upzaila of the district on Monday morning.

The deceased were identified as Shahrukh, 18, son of late Latif Hawlader.

Witnesses said that a Dhaka-bound passenger bus stuck on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at around 07:00am and a bus tried to overtake the stuck bus but turned turtle as its driver lost control over steering, leaving the bus passengers injured.

Later, the critically injured Shahrukh was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Confirming the matter Sitakundo Thana Officer-in-Charge SM Badiuzzaman told banglanews, “The injured were rushed to various hospitals.”
