Global COVID-19 cases top 212.6m, deaths 4.44m [image collected]

The overall global Covid-19 caseload has topped 212.6 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 4.44 million, according to data from the worldometer.

In its latest update on Monday (Aug 23, 2:00pm Bangladesh Time), the data revealed that the current global caseload and death toll stood at 212,606,564 and 4,444,792 respectively.

Besides, a total of 190,231,549 people recovered worldwide from the disease, according to data from the worldometer.

A total of 220 countries and territories and two international conveyances have been infected in the deadly disease.

In USA, 38,545,144 people have tested positive for the virus. Of them, 645,058 people have died and 30,472,804 people have recovered.

In Brazil, 20,570,891 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 569,581 have died and 19,448,816 recovered.

In India, 32,449,306 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 434,784 people have died and 31,680,626 people have recovered.

In Mexico, 3,225,073 have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 253,155 died and 2,553,626 recovered from the disease.

In Peru, 2,142,153 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 197,879 have died.

In Russia, 6,747,087 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 176,044 have died and 6,019,466 people have recovered.

In UK, 6,492,906 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 131,640 patients have died and 5,056,571 people have recovered.

In Italy, 4,484,613 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 128,751 people have died and 4,220,924 people have recovered. 

In Indonesia, 3,979,456 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 126,372 patients have died and 3,546,324 people have recovered.

In Colombia, 4,889,537 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 124,216 people have died and 4,718,500 people have recovered.

In France, 6,619,611 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 113,311 patients have died and 6,038,492 patients have recovered.

In Argentina, 5,133,831 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 110,352 patients have died and 4,814,020 people have recovered.

In Iran, 4,677,114 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 102,038 patients have died and 3,932,472 patients have recovered. 

In Germany, 3,876,024 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 92,478 patients have died and 3,702,100 have recovered.

In Spain, 4,770,453 patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 83,136 have died and 4,078,846 patients have recovered. 

In South Africa, 2,690,973 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 79,421 patients have died and 2,444,409 people have recovered.

In Poland, 2,886,698 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 75,316 patients have died and 2,656,143 people have recovered.
 
In Bangladesh, 1,461,998 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 25,282 people died and 1,363,874 patients have recovered.

The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11 last year.
