Global COVID-19 cases top 216.29m, deaths 4.5m [image collected]

The overall global Covid-19 caseload has topped 216.29 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 4.5 million, according to data from the worldometer.

In its latest update on Saturday (Aug 28, 3:00pm Bangladesh Time), the data revealed that the current global caseload and death toll stood at 216,298,670 and 4,500,414 respectively.

Besides, a total of 193,278,523 people recovered worldwide from the disease, according to data from the worldometer.

A total of 220 countries and territories and two international conveyances have been infected in the deadly disease.

In USA, 39,540,401 people have tested positive for the virus. Of them, 653,405 people have died and 30,786,368 people have recovered.

In Brazil, 20,703,906 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 578,396 have died and 19,629,675 recovered.

In India, 32,649,947 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 437,403 people have died and 31,852,802 people have recovered.

In Mexico, 3,311,317 have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 257,150 died and 2,639,903 recovered from the disease.

In Peru, 2,147,285 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 198,115 have died.

In Russia, 6,863,541 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 180,840 have died and 6,131,446 people have recovered.

In UK, 6,666,399 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 132,243 patients have died and 5,298,660 people have recovered.

In Italy, 4,517,434 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 129,002 people have died and 4,250,314 people have recovered. 

In Indonesia, 4,056,354 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 130,781 patients have died and 3,689,256 people have recovered.

In Colombia, 4,901,163 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 124,648 people have died and 4,731,933 people have recovered.

In France, 6,711,268 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 114,083 patients have died and 6,170,625 patients have recovered.

In Argentina, 5,167,733 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 111,270 patients have died and 4,846,795 people have recovered.

In Iran, 4,869,414 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 105,287 patients have died and 4,084,991 patients have recovered. 

In Germany, 3,924,980 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 92,620 patients have died and 3,723,200 have recovered.

In Spain, 4,831,809 patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 84,000 have died and 4,258,193 patients have recovered. 

In South Africa, 2,747,018 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 81,187 patients have died and 2,498,429 people have recovered.

In Poland, 2,888,028 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 75,340 patients have died and 2,656,708 people have recovered.
 
In Bangladesh, 1,486,153 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 25,846 people died and 1,404,370 patients have recovered.

The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11 last year.
