Global COVID-19 cases top 221.56m, deaths 4.58m [image collected]

The overall global Covid-19 caseload has topped 221.56 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 4.58 million, according to data from the worldometer.

In its latest update on Monday (Sep 6, 1:30pm Bangladesh Time), the data revealed that the current global caseload and death toll stood at 221,561,509 and 4,582,081 respectively.

Besides, a total of 198,072,560 people recovered worldwide from the disease, according to data from the worldometer.

A total of 220 countries and territories and two international conveyances have been infected in the deadly disease.

In USA, 40,805,259 people have tested positive for the virus. Of them, 666,219 people have died and 31,315,751 people have recovered.

In Brazil, 20,890,779 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 583,628 have died and 19,862,438 recovered.

In India, 33,027,621 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 440,785 people have died and 32,181,995 people have recovered.

In Mexico, 3,428,384 have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 263,140 died and 2,768,946 recovered from the disease.

In Peru, 2,155,034 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 198,488 have died.

In Russia, 7,012,599 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 187,200 have died and 6,270,731 people have recovered.

In Indonesia, 4,129,020 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 135,861 patients have died and 3,837,640 people have recovered.

In UK, 6,978,126 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 133,229 patients have died and 5,609,575 people have recovered.

In Italy, 4,571,440 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 129,515 people have died and 4,305,223 people have recovered. 

In Colombia, 4,918,649 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 125,278 people have died and 4,750,020 people have recovered.

In France, 6,836,452 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 114,905 patients have died and 6,361,959 patients have recovered.

In Argentina, 5,203,802 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 112,511 patients have died and 4,901,031 people have recovered.

In Iran, 5,129,407 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 110,674 patients have died and 4,362,814 patients have recovered. 

In Germany, 4,013,808 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 92,863 patients have died and 3,775,500 have recovered.

In Spain, 4,877,755 patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 84,795 have died and 4,418,343 patients have recovered. 

In South Africa, 2,819,945 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 83,419 patients have died and 2,594,857 people have recovered.

In Poland, 2,890,484 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 75,379 patients have died and 2,657,527 people have recovered.
 
In Bangladesh, 1,514,456 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 26,563 people died and 1,451,063 patients have recovered.

The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11 last year.
