Global COVID-19 cases top 293.08, deaths pass 5.46m [photo collected]

The overall global Covid-19 caseload has topped 293.08 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 5.46 million, according to data from the worldometer.

In its latest update on Tuesday (Jan 4, 5pm Bangladesh Time), the data revealed that the current global caseload and death toll stood at 293,080,943 and 5,467,767 respectively.

Besides, a total of 255,480,384 people recovered worldwide from the disease, according to data from the worldometer.

A total of 222 countries and territories and two international conveyances have been infected in the deadly disease.

In USA, 57,131,187 people have tested positive for the virus. Of them, 848,885 people have died and 41,722,468 people have recovered.

In Brazil, 22,305,078 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 619,245 have died and 21,567,845 recovered.

In India, 34,960,261 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 482,017 people have died and 34,306,414 people have recovered.

In Russia, 10,570,212 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 312,187 have died and 9,575,187 people have recovered.

In Mexico, 3,993,464 have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 299,581 died and 3,315,699 recovered from the disease.

In Peru, 2,304,674 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 202,818 have died.

In UK, 13,422,815 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 148,893 patients have died and 10,460,659 people have recovered.

In Indonesia, 4,263,732 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 144,105 patients have died and 4,114,969 people have recovered.

In Italy, 6,396,110 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 137,786 people have died and 5,133,272 people have recovered. 

In Iran, 6,198,590 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 131,702 patients have died and 6,042,589 patients have recovered. 

In Colombia, 5,191,021 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 130,061 people have died and 4,983,053 people have recovered.

In France, 10,317,819 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 124,212 patients have died and 8,209,921 patients have recovered.

In Argentina, 5,739,326 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 117,245 patients have died and 5,354,411 people have recovered.

In Germany, 7,235,135 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 113,074 patients have died and 6,531,900 have recovered.

In Poland, 4,145,518 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 98,034 patients have died and 3,673,234 people have recovered.

In Ukraine, 3,678,088 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 96,436 patients have died and 3,483,354 people have recovered.

In South Africa, 3,475,512 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 91,312 patients have died and 3,224,152 people have recovered.

In Spain, 6,667,511 patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 89,573 have died and 5,099,647 patients have recovered. 

In Turkey, 9,597,670 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 82,795 patients have died and 9,136,290 people have recovered.
 
In Bangladesh, 1,587,915 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 28,087 people died and 1,549,957 patients have recovered.

The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11 in 2020.
