Kasba AL office torched, 50 hurt

BRAHMANBARIA: At least 50 people were injured in a clash between ruling Awami League men and the opposition BNP leaders and activists on Friday afternoon.

During the time, along with Kasba upazila Awami League office, a number of motorcycles also were torched.

Injured persons were rushed to various local hospitals and clinics.

Sources said that clash took place as both Awami League and BNP men took position at the Dukbunglow area of station road in the upazila and BNP men blazed upazila Awami League office, leaving at least 50 people injured from both the sides.

Police fired rubber bullets and tear shells to take the situation under control.

Brahmanbaria Police Superintendent M Moniruzzaman told banglanews that several rounds of rubber bullets and tear shells were fired to take the situation under control.
