THAKURGAON: At least 40 people were injured in sporadic clashes between Awami League and BNP in Ranishankail upazila of the district on Friday afternoon.

The injured were treated at various local hospitals including Ranishankail Upazila Health Complex.

President of Ranishankail Upazila BNP Ainul Haque Master claimed that Awmi League activists attacked while 18-party were holding a rally in front of the upazila BNP office, leaving 40 people injured.

On the other hand, upazila Awami League president Soidul Haque claimed that the clash triggered as BNP-Jamaat activists threw brick bats to their road side rally at around 5:30 pm.

Thakurgaon Police Super Faysal Mahmud confirmed the matter to banglanews.
