The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 87 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Thursday (May 19).
Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.

The DMP seized 2,867 Yaba tablets, 121.745kg hemp, 123gm of heroin, 3 bottles of phensedyl and 10 injectable drugs from their possessions, a DMP statement said.

Being informed, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said.
 
According to the statement, a total of 69 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
