The 'World Standards Day' will be observed in the country as elsewhere across the globe tomorrow with the theme 'Shared vision for a better world - Standards for SDGs".
On the eve of the day, President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages.
In his message, President Abdul Hamid said the primary responsibility of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) is to formulate product standards and ensure implementation of those standards.
BSTI became a member of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 1974 with the sole efforts of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the head of the state added.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in her message, said that the dream of Bangabandhu was to build a 'Sonar Bangla' free from economic emancipation and poverty.
Sheikh Hasina firmly believed that Bangladesh will be able to achieve its desired goals by continuing the ongoing trend of knowledge-based and modern industrialization by transforming the people into human resources in the country.
Both the president and the premier wished the overall success of all the programmes taken on the occasion of 'World Standards Day-2022'.
