DHAKA: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel entered Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad’s house while additional forces of police were standing guard outside.
      
Sources said a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) entered his house in the evening immediately after the JP boss asked his party senior leaders to resign from their posts of ministers and adviser to the PM.

The JP chief may be arrested later, added the source.

Banglanews correspondent reported from the spot that nobody was allowed to enter the house.

Earlier, the JP Chief announced that his party would not join the election at a press conference at Banani office in the city on Tuesday noon.

He said, “I along with my party boycott this national poll as all the political parties are not taking part in the polls.”

The JP leaders, who were submitted nomination papers, were requested to withdraw their nomination papers, he added.

Ershad also refused the allegations of taking Tk 1000 crore from the government.
