The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has ramped up its grassroots campaign to promote women’s rights and empowerment, following directives from the party’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman.

As part of this effort, BNP organized a series of yard meetings in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi district to communicate the party’s commitment and future plans directly to rural women.

The programs drew strong participation from local women and children, reflecting BNP’s growing engagement at the community level.

BNP Media Cell member Mahmuda Habiba, who is also a nomination aspirant from Rajshahi-5, attended as the keynote speaker.

Speaking at the gatherings, Mahmuda Habiba said the sessions aimed to create awareness among women about their rights, opportunities, and the party’s broader vision for gender equality.

“Such engagement can inspire more women to participate in social and political activities,” she added.

Mahmuda Habiba, who currently serves as Joint Secretary of the Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Krishak Dal and is a member of the BNP Central Training Committee, also organized the events.

The first yard meeting was held on Monday (October 13) at Ward No. 9, Pirgacha, under Puthia Union. It was chaired by Md Abdul Matin Mondol, President of Ward No. 9 BNP, and conducted by Md Saiful Islam, former General Secretary of Puthia Municipality Chhatra Dal.

The second meeting took place on Tuesday (October 14) at Ward No. 9, Harugachi, under Valukgachhi Union, with participation from local leaders representing the BNP, Krishak Dal, Jubo Dal, Sramik Dal, and Mahila Dal.

In both sessions, Mahmuda Habiba elaborated on Tarique Rahman’s vision for women’s empowerment and reaffirmed the BNP’s commitment to ensuring women’s rights, equality, and active participation in national development.
