FENI: A Jubo Dal leader was killed and 50 others were injured in a clash with cops after blockaders attacked police outpost at SSK Road of the district on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Harun, 32, vice president of Nogor Union Jubo Dal.

Resident Medical Officer of Feni Sadar Hospital Asim Kumar Saha confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Witnesses said district Jubo Dal brought out a procession from Wapda ground.

On their way to Trunk Road, Jubo Dal activists hurled petrol bombs and brick chips towards the police outpost at SSK Road of the city, they added.

Police also opened fire over 100 rounds from their shot guns for self-defense that left over 50 people, including former president of Feni Press Club AKM Abdur Rahim injured, reported banglanews correspondent.

On the other hand, part of the Jubo Dal procession locked into a clash with Juba League men at the Trunk Road area with bamboo sticks and local weapons.

Additional Superintendent of Police of Feni Saiful Haque told banglanews that they deployed two platoons of BGB personnel to bring the situation under control.
