DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday categorically said BNP-Jamaat would not foil the unity of people and alliance as their anarchic activism couldn’t stop the 10th parliamentary polls.
The premier, also Wami League president, made the assertion after a meeting of the 14-party alliance in the evening.
Terming the poll as fair and transparent, she said, “It is rare to oversee a general election with 40 percent of total vote. Only Bangladesh can make and it proved in 10th national polls.”
She said, “The attack on the minority indicated that the character of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami remains unchanged and I have never compromised with such terrorism.”
She urged BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to stop violence and warned that her government would take stern actions against the perpetrators of violence.
Hasina also congratulated her allies for the victory in the 10th parliamentary elections.
