BOGRA: District Jamaat-e-Islami on Wednesday called for dawn-to-dusk hartal for Thursday in protest against the killing of a teacher of BIAM School and College.

District Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Alamgir Hossain, from a roadside rally, claimed the killed teacher as a former Chhatra Shibir leader of Azizul Haque College and announced the hartal.

Meanwhile, demanding the trial of the killers, BIAM School and College authority kept the school closed for Wednesday.

On January 20, BNP-led 18-party alliance called for a dawn-to-dusk hartal for Thursday demanding withdrawal of all the cases against BNP’s Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman.

On Tuesday night, miscreants chopped to death Abdul Baki, 28, teacher of BIAM School and College, in front of the Awami League office and police camp in Satmatha Mor area of the town.
