Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested 20 leaders and activists of Awami League, Chattra League, and Jubo League for their involvement in attacking protestors during last year’s student-led mass uprising in July and August.
The arrests were made over the past 24 hours in multiple areas of the port city.
According to CMP’s Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media), Mahmuda Begum, the detainees are accused in cases filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act for their involvement in attacks and other criminal activities during the protests.
