BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said that the party does not participate in any activity that lacks public support. 

He said it today while addressing the biennial conference of BNP's Jashore district unit, being held at the central Eidgah ground.

He said that if given the opportunity to govern, BNP's primary focus would be to rebuild the country. He also defended the party's integrity, saying that actions had been taken against members involved in unethical activities, urging the public not to be misled by anti-BNP propaganda.

A free and fair election must be held as soon as possible to rebuild the nation in line with the expectations of the country's people, Tarique Rahman added.

The conference, held after 16 years, was inaugurated by BNP senior leader Amanullah Aman and presided over by Prof. Nargis Begum, Convener of the Jashore district unit.
